What’s going on at Shanghait

Written by Francesco on January 29, 2018

Dear friends,

last months have been plenty of changes and we want to share all this joy and our future plans with you.

First of all, Birrificio Shanghait is a larger family: Pedro from Granada and Antonio from Orune, Kingdom of Sardinia, have joined the team. Though they won’t brew actively, they will help us keeping the pace. Herzlich willkommen!

Secondly, Malto is taking shape in Max-Brauer-Allee 88.

It will be our new house, a brewpub with a little kitchen, a large beer garden and a cozy atmosphere. In few words: a place for lovers of quality beer and comfort food. Curious about it? In sparse order: eight beers (for now) from tap (not only from us), most of the ingredients of the kitchen from organic agriculture, rotating-selection of natural wines and fine drinks, rauchen und nicht freundliche Stimmungen sind verboten, ab März.

For the moment the brewhouse will stay in Jimmy Elsass; move to the new space is planned for mid 2018. We will update our system to brew up to 200L because we proudly want to stay small. Our aim is to become a community brewery, providing always fresh ales to the neighbourhood and to HH, skipping the world craft and just staying with beer.

See you soon in Altona!
